Pure Life Wellness at The Organic Healing Center

We are thrilled to announce that Pure Life Wellness will be operating out of a wonderful Wellness Center in Historic Downtown Bowmanville, located at 37 King St West. The center embodies everything Pure Life Wellness stands for and believes in, and as such is a perfect match for our clients. With the addition of a new space, we are now able to offer monthly seminars and weekly cooking classes. We feel this will be a great opportunity for the community to come together, learn about health and wellness and meet professionals driven to helping you lead a better life. 

Below is a list of seminars and cooking classes offered exclusively at The Organic Healing Center for October, November and December.



SEMINARS

The first Monday of every month a one hour seminar will be held from 7:00pm-8:00pm. The cost is $10 per person.

First Seminar: FREE! Monday October 4th- “5 Steps for Holistic Weight Loss & Weight Management”

7pm-8pm


Enjoy an informative, interactive presentation based around 5 simple, easy to practice techniques to help you manage your weight.

This presentation is designed for those planning on making the transition to a healthier lifestyle, those who want to shed a few extra pounds or for anyone who would like to learn how to incorporate good habits into a healthy lifestyle.

Seminar: Monday November 1st- “The Role of Fibre- Are you Getting Enough?”

7pm-8pm, $10 per person 

Everyone talks about the importance of fibre in the diet, but why is it so important? What can a deficiency in fibre lead to? Well, quite a lot actually, from Irritable Bowel Syndrome, to Fatigue, Depression and even Cancer. The majority of North Americans are extremely deficient in fibre. In this seminar you will learn how you can increase your daily fibre, what fibre does for your body, how you can prevent serious disease and illness and lose weight- all with foods!

Seminar: Monday December 6th- “Staying Slim, Trim and Healthy During the Holidays”

The holiday bulge! It haunts us every year! Our activity level decreases, our portions are inflated and we drink enough alcohol to age ourselves an extra year! This season don’t damage your body, embrace it, treat it well and keep yourself happy while doing so. Looking and feeling great doesn’t have to come at the price you think it does- there is no depriving yourself, counting calories or missing social outings because you want to stay slim- join Leigh as she teaches you how to maintain your social life without expanding your waistline this holiday season.

 

COOKING CLASSES

4-week Cooking Class, Tuesday October 12th –November 2nd from 6:30-9pm

“SUPER FOODS”

Learn which foods really are super! Each week you will be introduced to new Super Foods with delicious, fresh recipes. Super Foods help you feel younger, look better, improve your energy and prevent you from diseases such as cancer and diabetes. Discover how you can make Super Foods a part of your weekly regime to a healthier, new you!

4-week Cooking Class, Tuesday November 16th –December 7nd from 6:30-9pm

“EATING FOR DIABETICS”

Diabetes is on the rise in our society today, sadly amongst children as well. The connection between diabetes and food choices is undeniable. If you feel you are at risk of, or are already a diabetic or know someone who is- this cooking class is for you. With so much mixed information about what you should eat for your condition it’s no wonder we haven’t seen a positive decline in people recovering from diabetes. BUT! The good news is, Type 2 Diabetes is 100% manageable by food alone. If you want to learn how to eat properly to manage or diminish your diabetes, do not miss this life changing series.

“7 COLOURS, EVERYDAY”

Introducing colour into your daily diet is a great way to improve your health, naturally. You increase your fibre, nutrient content and experience a wide variety of foods when you introduce colour. Cook with Leigh as she shows you how you can introduce 7 Colours a Day into your life.

“KIDS MEALS, making your kids favourites healthy”

Kids are picky eaters and it is often difficult to get them to eat all the foods their growing bodies need- especially when they are bombarded by advertisements encouraging junk food. In this class you will learn how you can incorporate the nutritional needs of your children into their food in fun, healthy ways. You will also be given great advice on educating children about the importance of eating healthy.

There is no denying it- we live in a fast paced society, fixated on quick fixes. That doesn’t mean your body should have to suffer! Discover how you can eat right with a hectic lifestyle.

“EATING FOR YOUR BLOOD TYPE”

Understanding your blood type plays a large role in preventing disease, illness and managing your ideal weight. Most people ignore this critical factor when they create a customized diet plan for optimal health. During this cooking class, we will explore the different unique needs of each Blood Type and create a fabulous meal which compliments that type.

“THE CHRISTMAS SERIES: TURNING THAT TURKEY DINNER INTO A HEALTHY MEAL”

The Christmas series is designed to take the traditional turkey dishes and make them good for your heart, your metabolism and your skin! Christmas time is ridden with stress, and a large amount of that stress has to do with poor food choices around the holiday season. These classes are formulated to make you look and feel good, while preparing a delicious full turkey dinner for your loved ones.

We will be cooking a wonderful turkey dinner, from the bird, to the sides and even dessert- all to keep you strong and stress free during the Christmas craze!
